Teleseminars

A teleseminar is an emerging new way to communicate, provide training over the phone, and conduct business without the cost and hassle of traveling. The audience may range from a few callers to 1000 participants depending on the capacity of the bridgeline and on the prestige of the topic. Typically, these conference calls are recorded for future use. During these calls, there is an allocated time for the presentation of the topic and also for the questions to be raised by the audience. Teleseminars are yet another unique way to reach people and inform them of your purpose.

Teleseminars are used to supply facts, give training, or to advertise a product or a service to a group of people who are interested in a particular topic. These are typically good for teaching others and marketing your product or service, going over the key points in some materials, and taking questions and answers for your customers. Teleseminars are seminars are similar to the conventional seminars in terms of content and purpose. The only difference is that teleseminars are given over a teleconference rather than at a specific place.

How are teleseminars done? How easy are they? From the words telephone and seminar, teleseminars are seminars done over a phone conference. Trainers speak on one end and participants listen on the other. It works just like the traditional seminars minus the hassle of going to a live seminar. Listeners can just stay at home or at their workplace and be trained just the same. This goes on at an average duration of 2 hours. If you are the trainer, give your callers clear instructions about muting and unmuting their phones in case of background noise so as not to interrupt the ongoing seminar. Let them know when the line is open for questions. Questions encourage participation and generally add value to the call. If you are the only speaker, keep a drink nearby in case your mouth dries up from talking. If you do have a guest speaker, have a secondary guest or a backup plan in case of unforeseen events. Record the call for the benefit of those who would want to listen to it over again or for those who have missed the teleconference. End your teleseminar with a call to action for your participants like giving them an assignment and asking them to send feedbacks afterwards. This gives more value to your teleseminar as it builds linkage to you and your participants.
